Wind Ensemble

The Wind Ensemble is an ensemble comprised of wind players and percussionists grades 10-12 (9th grade with outstanding performance ability) with an average of 45 members. The ensemble performs music from various time periods and styles in grade levels V and VI. Students audition for chair placement at the start of the semester. Students in this ensemble are held to a high standard of musical excellence and are expected to actively refine their basic musical abilities, including style, technique, and expression.

The CCHS Wind Ensemble has consistently received Superior ratings at concert festivals in North Carolina and Virginia.

Students in all ensembles are encouraged to perform in chamber ensembles and take private lessons throughout the year.
