The Currituck County Marching Knights (MK) is one of the most visible performing ensembles at CCHS. The ensemble is comprised of wind instruments, percussion instruments, and color guard members. The season starts in mid-July and continues through mid-November.

The Marching Knights are highly active in the community, performing for all home football games, as well as local parades and functions. The Marching Knights travel throughout the season to compete at various local and regional competitions.

Students learn life skills, such as teamwork, responsibility, dedication, and community building. Students also learn to push themselves as musicians and performers.

Marching Knights

The CCHS Color Guard is an ensemble that utilizes dance, flags, and props to portray the marching show's story.  Members of this ensemble are selected by audition only; however, no previous experience is required.

Color Guard

  1. Audition Dates are to be determined for the 2024-2025 season. Students who are interested in auditioning for color guard are required to attend all audition dates to be considered for placement.

  2. Students will be asked to learn intermediate flag routines, a basic dance routine, and basic marching skills.  We are assessing your ability to learn!

  3. All Color Guard Members  must be enrolled in the Marching Band class in the Fall Semester.

Percussion

We have both a marching percussion section and a front ensemble section within the marching knights. Percussion auditions happen in the spring of each year. After auditions occur, you will be placed to an instrument that best fits your playing ability for the field show that we will perform in the fall. Click below to access the music that will be used for percussion auditions.
